Clearing up Cosmos

June 26, 2015 by Terrell Clemmons

A Review of The Unofficial Guide to Cosmos: Fact and Fiction in Neil deGrasse Tyson’s Landmark Science Series Douglas Ell became an atheist as a youth because of misinformation handed down in the name of science. It took him thirty years “to climb out of the atheist hole.” Sadly, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, the 2014 series brought to you by Neil deGrasse Tyson, Family Guy’s … [Read more...]

Why Did God Kill the Midianite Boys in Numbers 31? Part Two.

June 25, 2015 by JC Lamont

Through literary apologetics, this four-part series examines one of the more difficult passages in which to reconcile the God of the Old Testament with the God of love, namely Numbers 31:13-18, which records the mass killing of Midianites including baby boys. As mentioned before, I find this particular passage abhorrent; however, after researching the cultural context, I do … [Read more...]

Per Fillium: A Biblical Alternative to the Filioque Clause and a Via Media between Rome and Constantinople: Part 4 of 6

June 17, 2015 by CAA Guests and Features

(Originally Presented at the 2014 Meeting of the Northeast Region of the Evangelical Society)   Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3  Per Fillium - The Way Forward In the previous section, I established both exegetical and systematic objections to both the Double- and Single- procession views. Apart from a non-procession view, which I do not find to be tenable in the least, there may … [Read more...]

Undivided (The Unwind Dystology)

June 16, 2015 by Anthony Weber

If you aren't reading Neil Shusterman, you should be. Unwind  may be one of the best current Young Adult series addressing significant moral and social issues in a way that leads readers toward the truth. This review will cover the final book, Undivided. If you are not familiar with the series, it may be helpful to read some observations about the previous books (just click on … [Read more...]

Book Review: Christian Endgame

June 13, 2015 by Luke Nix

This reviewer writes quite often about the importance of internal theological discussions to apologists. Eschatology (end times) tends to be one of the most fascinating, heated, and damaging debates within the Church. As prophecy enthusiasts keep attempting to predict the date of Christ's return (and fail), it makes the Christian worldview appear to be falsified from the … [Read more...]

Does Public Opinion Create Truth?

June 1, 2015 by Zak Schmoll

Much has been written in recent days about a research study from the Pew Research Center that has many people either worried or rejoicing that the percentage of self-identifying Christians in America seems to be on the decline. … [Read more...]

In the most recent edition of EQUIPPED, we announced we would be taking applications for CAA Pilot Chapters, and held a book giveaway contest for those who applied. The Gospel in the Marketplace of Ideas

May 29, 2015 by Maryann Spikes

The CAA read The Gospel in the Marketplace of Ideas: Paul’s Mars Hill Experience for Our Pluralistic World by Paul Copan and Kenneth D. Litwak, as part of Apologetics 315’s weekly Read Along program. This took place August through October. Each week, an audio introduction from Paul Copan was provided for that week’s chapter, along with a brief synopsis and study questions. We … [Read more...]

Atheist Matt Dillahunty Goes After Intelligent Design — and Stumbles

May 27, 2015 by Jonathan McLatchie

I was recently directed to the above video featuring notable atheist Matt Dillahunty (with whom I have had interaction in the past). In it, Dillahunty makes a number of elementary mistakes that are quite common among popular-level criticisms of intelligent design. I thought it would be worthwhile to offer a short respon se. Misrepresenting Intelligent Design His first mistake … [Read more...]

Convince Me There’s A God – Archaeology 23

May 27, 2015 by Mark McGee

When a theist presents ‘evidence’ to an atheist for the existence of God, the atheist will often challenge the theist with whether the supernatural is ‘falsifiable.’ In other words, is a belief in God ‘testable?’ Atheists say that ‘religious beliefs,’ beliefs in the existence of a supernatural God, are not falsifiable because they cannot be verified or denied. That was one … [Read more...]

Christian Apologetics Alliance is a Top 100 Christian Blog

Unity Statement

In essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, in all things charity. The Christian Apologetics Alliance (CAA) is united in our Statement of Faith. The CAA does not, as an organization, have positions on many of the doctrinal or theological debates that take place within the church. Our primary concern is to promote the gracious, rational defense of the central claims of Christianity and the critique of opposing systems of thought. The CAA joyfully welcomes Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and diverse Protestant believers, and we are committed to treating all these traditions with respect in our community.
