Mining for God

July 15, 2015 by Terrell Clemmons

--- on TV this Saturday --- Brandon McGuire grew up with a Midwestern American view of Christianity. After college, though, he lived for three months in Africa, where he saw a very different kind of lived-out Christianity. When he came back to America, he started to pay more attention to what people think about Christianity. As he asked questions, both online and on the … [Read more...]

Book Review: The Case For Life- Part 1 Of 4

July 13, 2015 by Luke Nix

I have been quite excited to read Scott Klusendorf's The Case For Life: Equipping Christians to Engage the Culture (paperback, Kindle, GoodReads, Video Trailer, Interview, Life Training Institute). From my elementary school days, I have been exposed to pro-life Christians who have faced ridicule, fines, physical harm, and even jail time for their commitment to the unborn's … [Read more...]

Who Wrote the Pastoral Letters Of The New Testament? Part 3 of 3

July 11, 2015 by CAA Guests and Features

Part 1 | Part 2 E. THE IMPACT OF TIME: These letters are written over a period of 10 to 15 years. Time changes all of us. Can you remember what you were doing ten or fifteen years ago? Think about how you have changed since that time. If I ever find those seminary papers I've been mentioning, maybe I'll compare them to this article. I can only imagine the differences after … [Read more...]

Who Wrote the Pastoral Letters Of The New Testament? Part 2 of 3

July 4, 2015 by CAA Guests and Features

Part 1 of 3 2. BASIC PROBLEMS WITH THIS ARGUMENT: Carson and Moo show some of the basic flaws with this statistical analysis: The arguments sound impressive, but they are not as convincing as they seem to be at first sight. Those who put them forward do not always notice, for example, that most of the words shared by the Pastorals and the second-century writers are also … [Read more...]

Moving In The Wrong Direction

July 1, 2015 by Zak Schmoll

Imagine that you are driving towards New York City, and you are aiming to go visit the Empire State Building as thousands of people do every year. As you are driving down the highway, you see the Empire State Building growing bigger, so you know that you are getting closer. However, after making a few turns, you notice that your target is getting smaller and smaller. You seem … [Read more...]

Convince Me There’s A God – Archaeology 24

June 30, 2015 by Mark McGee

We are looking at what archaeological evidence was available in 1971 to support the writings of the Hebrew prophets in the Old Testament of the Bible. That’s when I was conducting an investigation, as an atheist, into the truth claims of theism and Christianity. We’ve seen evidence for the men who prophesied during the years of the kings of Israel and Judah and the evidence … [Read more...]

Per Fillium: A Biblical Alternative to the Filioque Clause and a Via Media between Rome and Constantinople: Part 5 of 6

June 28, 2015 by CAA Guests and Features

(Originally Presented at the 2014 Meeting of the Northeast Region of the Evangelical Society) Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 Systematic Support As I have established in my previous exegetical analysis. The mediatorial work of the Son is not exclusively a matter of salvation. However we see this development is not novel to my own interpretation. Calvin argues along similar … [Read more...]

EQUIPPED: Vol. 1, No. 4 – Evidence for the Reliability of the Bible

June 27, 2015 by CAA Guests and Features

Vol. 1, No. 4 Evidence for the Reliability of the Bible "All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness." The next time someone raises the telephone game objection, ask them to explain the rules. Then, send them: "Evidence for the Reliability of the Bible." –Glen Richmond, Editor Get more … [Read more...]

Who Wrote the Pastoral Letters Of The New Testament? Part 1 of 3

June 27, 2015 by CAA Guests and Features

Back in the early 1990s while pastoring in a mainline denomination, I attended one of their liberal seminaries. It was there that I first encountered the idea that some of the books of the New Testament were not written by the authors that they said they were written by. At the time, I thought that this idea would never be more than an academic concern--an annoying issue among … [Read more...]

Apologetics is not my Thing

June 27, 2015 by Jon Meyer

Brothers, sisters, and fellow apologists: how many times have we ever heard, "This is really interesting stuff, I'm glad someone is doing it." Or maybe, "I just don't have the brain for remembering all those facts; I haven’t been blessed with that.” Or even, “I don’t really feel called to be intellectual about the Bible, but I'm glad someone is called to talk to college … [Read more...]

Christian Apologetics Alliance is a Top 100 Christian Blog

Unity Statement

In essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, in all things charity. The Christian Apologetics Alliance (CAA) is united in our Statement of Faith. The CAA does not, as an organization, have positions on many of the doctrinal or theological debates that take place within the church. Our primary concern is to promote the gracious, rational defense of the central claims of Christianity and the critique of opposing systems of thought. The CAA joyfully welcomes Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and diverse Protestant believers, and we are committed to treating all these traditions with respect in our community.
