From Religious None to Disciple: My story.

January 8, 2013 by Jonathan Homrighausen

When I was 15 I thought Christians were all idiots. And I had good reason, based on what little I knew.  Raised in a home where the most religious thing we ever did was say grace at dinner, I had very little exposure to church.  I'm not even sure I knew it existed. Despite this, I was always instinctually curious about religion.  I was raised to be a reader, and at 14 I had … [Read more...]

Arguments from Desire

January 7, 2013 by CAA Catechism

[This post is a work in progress as part of the CAA Catechism.] [Add the title only in the title field, not in the body of the post.] Summary in 400 words or less: C.S. Lewis popularized the argument that people have desires for real things (desire for money, desire for power over something, etc.). People have, at least unconsciously, a desire for God and heaven. Therefore, God … [Read more...]

Transmission and Canonization of Scripture

January 7, 2013 by CAA Catechism

[This post is a work in progress as part of the CAA Catechism.] [Add the title only in the title field, not in the body of the post.] Summary in 400 words or less: John Wenham writes, about the subject herein, there is no “absolute certainty.” However, one can have “adequate evidence” in which their conviction can be “dynamic” (Wenham, 192).  This soberness is … [Read more...]

Evaluating Naturalism

January 7, 2013 by CAA Catechism

[This post is a work in progress as part of the CAA Catechism.] [Add the title only in the title field, not in the body of the post.] Summary in 400 words or less: Naturalism can be summed up with Carl Sagan’s well-known mantra, “The Cosmos is all that is or ever was or ever will be.”[1] This worldview holds that everything about reality can be reduced to and explained by … [Read more...]

Eyewitness Testimony

January 7, 2013 by CAA Catechism

[This post is a work in progress as part of the CAA Catechism.] [Add the title only in the title field, not in the body of the post.] Summary in 400 words or less: Eyewitness testimony has been a vital part of family and community life for thousands of years. Moses told Israel - "by the mouth of two or three witnesses the matter shall be established" (Deuteronomy … [Read more...]

Getting People Into Apologetics: It Starts With You

January 7, 2013 by Austin Gravley

If you are a Christian and you are reading this blog, you probably have some degree of interest in apologetics. You may be getting your feet wet, getting your masters in apologetics, or somewhere in between. No matter where you are at in your study of apologetics, hopefully you find it incredibly rewarding and empowering to study the robust defense of the Christian faith. I … [Read more...]

Convince Me There’s A God: Fine-Tuning

January 7, 2013 by Mark McGee

I was comfortable as an atheist. I could do anything I wanted to do (or could get away with) and laugh at the masses of people stuck in the merry-go-round of belief in a "higher power." I laughed at them privately, with friends, and publicly on my radio talk show. So, it came as quite a surprise when I heard that science might support creation of the heavens and the earth by … [Read more...]

Becoming a Community Apologist: The Significance and Cost of Being an Apologist

January 6, 2013 by Ken Mann

It would be fair to say that I have been interested in becoming an apologist since 1992. Yet it was not until the summer of 2009 that I decided to get serious about it. What I have to offer here is less than advice but hopefully more than merely telling my own story. In order to put my remarks in context let me offer a brief sketch of my background and where I am today. I have … [Read more...]

Ancient Non-Christian Historical Evidence for Jesus – FLAVIUS JOSEPHUS, 1st century AD

January 5, 2013 by Nelis Ebersohn and Jason Dennett

"What does the Jewish Historian, Flavius Josephus, have to say about Jesus?"  Well that's precisely what this new video will seek to demonstrate. One of the most famous and important non-Christian historical references to Christ, comes from the Jewish Historian, Flavius Josephus (1st century AD).  What are the 10 solid historical facts he can tell us about Jesus?   Watch and … [Read more...]

Why I am opposed to same-sex marriage

January 5, 2013 by Ken Coughlan

I confess that the title to this post was meant to be blunt, but please don’t think it was intended to be rude. Nothing could be further from the truth. It is an unfortunate tendency in our culture today for people to be drawn to the sensational and controversial. So I avoided the temptation to go with a more philosophical title in hopes that by being straightforward and blunt … [Read more...]

Christian Apologetics Alliance is a Top 100 Christian Blog

Unity Statement

In essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, in all things charity. The Christian Apologetics Alliance (CAA) is united in our Statement of Faith. The CAA does not, as an organization, have positions on many of the doctrinal or theological debates that take place within the church. Our primary concern is to promote the gracious, rational defense of the central claims of Christianity and the critique of opposing systems of thought. The CAA joyfully welcomes Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and diverse Protestant believers, and we are committed to treating all these traditions with respect in our community.
