Apologetics and evangelism: Bridge the divide at your Church

January 27, 2013 by Chad Miller

If there's one focus a Church should have, it's on evangelism and missions. It's almost a little redundant to separate those since missions, properly understood, is evangelism. If we're truly doing the will of the Lord and making disciples of all nations, we can't do that by giving people clean water without giving them the water of eternal life. We can't give them bread to … [Read more...]

Personal Obstacles to Becoming a Community Apologist

January 10, 2013 by Sarah Abbey

Throughout the month of January various posts are being published encouraging you to become a “community apologist.” A community apologist is helpfully defined here as, “someone with an interest in apologetics stepping up to the plate and making themselves available to teach apologetics in their church and community.” Maybe you see the validity and need for this, yet there is … [Read more...]

Why Study Apologetics?

January 8, 2013 by Mikel Del Rosario

Ever met a Christian who told you not waste your time studying apologetics? I’ve known some well-meaning, but seriously misinformed believers who look down on the practice of providing evidence for the truth of Christianity. Why learn to give people reasons to believe? Here’s a quick response: Because Jesus gave people reasons to believe (See my previous post on this). His … [Read more...]

Remember, you are the slave

January 2, 2013 by Nick Peters

Recently, I've seen some discussions going on where there seems to be a preponderance of an attitude that I see often going on in the church. It is the attitude that since God is in charge of the universe then we don't really need to be active with how we handle matters. This is the case in politics or in personal Bible study. No need to do much. Let God do His part. After … [Read more...]

On The Dangers Of Fideism

December 31, 2012 by Jonathan McLatchie

On Saturday night, as I was home alone, the door bell rang. I opened the front door to greet the two young smartly-dressed gentlemen. They introduced themselves as missionaries from the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (a.k.a. the Mormons). Interacting with Mormon missionaries is a rare treat for me. I'm currently abroad, working in Seattle, and Mormonism is far less … [Read more...]

The Need for Apologetics: The Defense of the Faith

December 28, 2012 by Daniel Mann

Sometimes we expect that a few good arguments will unlock salvation’s door. When we find that they don’t and that we are met with a glaring sneer instead of a grateful embrace, we are hurt and conclude that “apologetics doesn’t work.” We then swing to the opposite – “I’m going to simply let my good works speak for the Gospel.” Admittedly, in our post-Christian society where … [Read more...]

Letter to Apollos from a Concerned Believer

December 25, 2012 by Henry William

(Or: How Not to Object to Christian Apologetics.) Dear Apollos: I’m concerned about your ministry. You publicly defend the public resurrection and public kingship of Jesus by appealing to public Scriptures and public evidences. You even have the audacity to say that Jesus rose bodily from the dead and that he is rightful king over everything and … [Read more...]

The Courageous Movie and the Purpose of Apologetics

December 24, 2012 by Luke Nix

Tomorrow marks the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ- the one who's life, death, and resurrection the Christian faith is founded upon. On this blog we spend a lot of time explaining how to defend the truth of Christianity, but why should you learn to defend the truth of Christianity? What is the real point in apologetics? Does it seem like a favorite past-time of only … [Read more...]

It is okay and good to question our beliefs.

December 1, 2012 by Maryann Spikes

In "The Reason for God" Tim Keller points out “A faith without some doubts is like a human body without any antibodies in it.” He sees that all doubts emerge from a starting point of alternate belief and encourages skeptics to “doubt their doubts” with as much force as they require justification for Christian belief. Everyone (whether they consider themselves secular or … [Read more...]

"Apolo-what?" Misunderstandings about Apologetics

November 28, 2012 by Sarah Abbey

I love meeting new people, hearing where they come from and what they do. I get excited to learn about their passions, and in turn share with them about who I am and what gets me excited in life. I’ve started to notice a trend though. Usually when I share my passion for Christian apologetics I get a blank or quizzical stare. What exactly is Christian apologetics? Why is it … [Read more...]

Christian Apologetics Alliance is a Top 100 Christian Blog

Unity Statement

In essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, in all things charity. The Christian Apologetics Alliance (CAA) is united in our Statement of Faith. The CAA does not, as an organization, have positions on many of the doctrinal or theological debates that take place within the church. Our primary concern is to promote the gracious, rational defense of the central claims of Christianity and the critique of opposing systems of thought. The CAA joyfully welcomes Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and diverse Protestant believers, and we are committed to treating all these traditions with respect in our community.
