Responses to Challenges from the New Atheists and 'Nones'

August 16, 2012 by Rob Lundberg

Over the last few months, I have been posting responses to some of the challenges coming from the (new) atheists and the "Nones" (those who profess no religious affiliation or faith).  What I have done here is provided you with a listing of those responses from the Real Issue blog, so that you have a collection of them for your reference.  By no means is this an exhaustive … [Read more...]

Going Against The Flow

August 15, 2012 by Nick Peters

Is that flowchart accurate? Several have already undertaken a look at the flowchart going around Facebook that starts with the question of if one thinks homosexuality is sinful. If someone doesn't, then homosexuals should not be allowed to redefine marriage. So is it really sinful? There's a problem right at the start. We could say for the sake of argument that homosexuality … [Read more...]

Supporting Marriage In Your Area

August 13, 2012 by Nick Peters

What can you do to support marriage where you live? Sunday, I listened to a podcast from the Ruth Institute that really inspired me. It had someone named Tom Peters (No relation) speaking on what anyone can do to support marriage and one idea was to use social media. Now I use social media quite often but decided that come Monday, since I avoid Facebook on Sundays, that I … [Read more...]

Debating tips for atheists

August 7, 2012 by Cameron English

Free thought blogger and atheist activist JT Eberhard has given a talk several times this year about why the arguments for the existence of God fail. During the talk, Eberhard discusses his year-long experiment of attending church and asking Christians why they believe in God. The lecture is designed to give atheists an outline of how to dialogue with believers and deconvert … [Read more...]

When Does Personhood Begin? Part II

August 6, 2012 by Clinton Wilcox

Previously we looked at some of the arguments and assumptions made to assert that the unborn either are not humans or are not “persons”. But now we’ll look at another kind of objection. Some pro-choice advocates know that the unborn are biologically human from fertilization. However, they’ll argue that while the unborn are humans biologically, they are not full-fledged humans … [Read more...]

Shut Up!

August 4, 2012 by Nick Peters

Can't you be more tolerant? In the debates over marriage today, we are often told as Christians that we are haters, we are bigots, we are homophobes, and we are intolerant. Now keep in mind I don't mind someone having a different opinion on homosexuality than I do. What I do mind is this kind of behavior that does not deal with the arguments but rather deals with the attitudes … [Read more...]

Concerned Christians And Homosexuality

August 3, 2012 by Nick Peters

What are we to say? A lot of Christians have some concerns over the debate going on over Same-Sex Marriage (SSM) today. Honestly, I don’t think this is directly the fault of individual Christians so much as it is of churches. Our churches have failed us by and large. We have not been taught how to think Christian. We have only been taught to be good little children, as if the … [Read more...]

Atheists Are People, Too!

August 2, 2012 by Mark McGee

Richard Dawkins, Richard Carrier, Barry McGowan, Christopher Hitchens, Bertrand Russell, Madalyn Murray O'Hair -- they all had one thing in common -- they are or were people. They also happen to be or were well-known atheists. I was quite taken with Madalyn Murray O'Hair at one time. I never met her, but had the opportunity to talk with her more than 40 years ago when she was … [Read more...]

The Emotional Tyranny of Whiners

August 2, 2012 by Nick Peters

Can't We All Just Get Along?! The text is as follows: Did your fries come at the cost of a soul yesterday? Let’s talk about it on Deeper Waters. Yesterday, my family and I went to our Chick-Fil-A. If your situation was like mine, we had police cars out front guiding traffic and long long lines outside the door. We waited well over an hour in line. We were there for dinner … [Read more...]

Chick-Fil-A Day

August 1, 2012 by Nick Peters

The post is as follows: Ready to go support the cause? Let's talk about it on Deeper Waters. Today is what we call Chick-Fil-A Day. It is a day where we will go to our local Chick-Fil-A's in response to the animosity they have received for their views on the family. Please note this at the start. Chick-Fil-A is not anti-gay. They are pro-family. There is a huge difference and … [Read more...]

Christian Apologetics Alliance is a Top 100 Christian Blog

Unity Statement

In essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, in all things charity. The Christian Apologetics Alliance (CAA) is united in our Statement of Faith. The CAA does not, as an organization, have positions on many of the doctrinal or theological debates that take place within the church. Our primary concern is to promote the gracious, rational defense of the central claims of Christianity and the critique of opposing systems of thought. The CAA joyfully welcomes Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and diverse Protestant believers, and we are committed to treating all these traditions with respect in our community.
