"Insurgent": Wars, Factions, and Forgiveness

November 1, 2012 by Anthony Weber

“You said you were waiting?” says Caleb. “What were you waiting for, exactly?” “For the world to fall apart,” Edward says, “And now it has.” _________________________________________________________________________ Veronica Roth’s Divergent introduced us to a utopia gone terribly wrong. Society has been divided into factions, each focusing on a particular character quality or … [Read more...]

Is there no truth, are all beliefs true, or is there only one truth?

November 1, 2012 by Maryann Spikes

This is something to consider in relationship to these objections to the objective truth of Christianity: 1) Claiming that Christianity is "the" truth steps on other people's toes. 2) Science doesn't even know the answers, and yet you claim to. 3) Like saying chocolate is your favorite icecream, faith equals opinion. These are the options regarding objective truth: … [Read more...]

Reason #2 Christianity is Unique: It is Compatible

October 30, 2012 by Nelis Ebersohn and Jason Dennett

Does the Christian Worldview match up with our Universe? Is Christianity compatible with our experience of reality?  (Part 2 of 5) This is one of the most important questions that needs to be asked of any/every worldview, but unfortunately gets overlooked quite often - the question of compatibility.  If a worldview claims to be true, and to describe reality in a comprehensive … [Read more...]

The New Atheism and Five Arguments for God

October 30, 2012 by CAA Guests and Features

Reprinted with the gracious permission of William Lane Craig. Are there good arguments for God’s existence? Have the so-called New Atheists shown that the arguments for God are no good? Copyright © 2010 by Christ on Campus Initiative (CCI) It’s perhaps something of a surprise that almost none of the so-called New Atheists has anything to say about arguments for God’s … [Read more...]

Does the Bible Justify Abortion?

October 30, 2012 by Clinton Wilcox

To be clear, abortion is not a religious issue. I have written several posts against abortion using science and philosophy. But you’ll occasionally find someone who uses the Bible to justify abortion. You’ll even encounter Atheists who try to use the Bible to justify abortion if they know a Christian is arguing against it. You just want to stare back and them and ask, “Why are … [Read more...]

Humanizing The Humanist

October 29, 2012 by Seth Osenkarski

Science is definitely an area of our society placed on a pedestal. Why shouldn’t it be, any fields of scientific research has yielded some great discoveries and essential inventions. Without the studies of physics, mathematics, and computer science I could not be communicating with you through the internet right now. However, the term science in the broadest sense is being … [Read more...]

John Walton—“Genesis Through Ancient Eyes”

October 28, 2012 by Henry William

A common objection to Christianity is that there's supposedly a fundamental conflict between the biblical and scientific stories of the origin and development of the universe, the Earth, life, and so on and so forth. John Walton, ((John Walton has a Ph.D. in Hebrew and Cognate Studies from the Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion, Cincinnati, … [Read more...]

Is There a Religion of None?

October 28, 2012 by Sarah Abbey

Someone once said, “Give me the making of the songs of a nation and I care not who writes its laws.”[1] In his book Can Man Live Without God, Ravi Zacharias gives the context of this quote, stating that these words “not only divulge a major cultural access point to our contemporary mind-set, but also acknowledge the extraordinary control of song lyrics upon the moods and … [Read more...]

“I Just Believe,” the Anti-Intellectual Faith Barrier to a Reasonable Faith

October 27, 2012 by Rob Lundberg

A few weeks ago following a worship service, I had an opportunity to speak with a potential member for our Ratio Christi club at the University of Mary Washington.  The conversation moved from discussing Ratio Christ toward a discussion concerning her spiritual beliefs and convictions.  Talk about a divine appointment. She was at church for the first time in a long time, and … [Read more...]

Investigating young-Earth evidences (for those who reject Christianity as young-Earth)

October 26, 2012 by Maryann Spikes

Full permission is given to reproduce or distribute this document, or to rearrange/reformat it for other media, as long as credit is given and no words are added or deleted from the text. Christian Apologetics Alliance is a Top 100 Christian Blog

Unity Statement

In essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, in all things charity. The Christian Apologetics Alliance (CAA) is united in our Statement of Faith. The CAA does not, as an organization, have positions on many of the doctrinal or theological debates that take place within the church. Our primary concern is to promote the gracious, rational defense of the central claims of Christianity and the critique of opposing systems of thought. The CAA joyfully welcomes Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and diverse Protestant believers, and we are committed to treating all these traditions with respect in our community.
