Who Do You Say That I Am? Not Michael!

November 2, 2014 by Stephen Bedard

The identity of Jesus is the most important question that we can wrestle with. Forget the age of the earth. Forget the dating of the Gospels. Who is Jesus? That is what we need to know. Every religion and philosophy has a different answer to that question. For the Jehovah's Witnesses, the answer is the archangel Michael. For Christians encountering that claim for the first … [Read more...]

Evaluating Jehovah’s Witnesses

November 25, 2013 by CAA Catechism

[This post is a work in progress as part of the CAA Catechism.] [Add the title only in the title field, not in the body of the post.] Summary in 400 words or less: History of the Watchtower Organization The belief system of the organization called the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, otherwise known as Jehovah’s Witnesses, can trace their origins to the Adventist … [Read more...]

How To Witness To A Jehovah's Witness Part 1

January 22, 2013 by Marc Hempe

Patience Is Key Allow me to start off by saying that I’m not claiming that there is a “best” way to witness to a Jehovah’s Witness, but I have been able to rescue some from their organization. So in that, I’ll share what I’ve learned in the process. Perhaps some of these ideas will be helpful to you. This discourse is written with the real time face to face encounter in mind, … [Read more...]

Tetragrammaton And Jehovah's Witnesses

December 14, 2012 by Prayson Daniel

Unwarrantedly Watchtower Society's Translation Committee added “Jehovah” in 237 places in New Testament. By doing so, New World Translation (NWT), Jehovah’s Witnesses’ Bible, blurs many passages that depicts Christ Jesus as Lord (Kyrios) of Old Testament. In Journal of Biblical Literature, Kurt Aland showed that the Tetragrammaton, YHWH, does not appear in any of the 5,255 … [Read more...]

Witnessing to Jehovah’s Witnesses

December 3, 2012 by Daniel Ashworth, Jr.

As any Christian apologist knows, there are vast differences between orthodox Christian and Watchtower Bible and Tract Society (Jehovah’s Witnesses) beliefs. The biggest difference that marks the Jehovah’s Witnesses (hereafter JW, or plural JWs) is their teachings on the nature of God. According to Dr. William Lane Craig from his “Defenders” (Series 1) podcasts the historic … [Read more...]

Archangel: Jesus of Jehovah’s Witnesses

November 12, 2012 by Prayson Daniel

Jehovah’s Witnesses are taught that Jesus is archangel Michael (Jude 9) since He speaks “with the voice of archangel”. Watchtower’s “Aid To Bible Understanding? ” claimed: Scriptural evidence indicates that the name Michael applied to God's Son before he left heaven to become Jesus Christ and also after his return. Michael is the only one said to be the "archangel” […] At 1 … [Read more...]

Jesus, Michael And Jehovah’s Witnesses

November 8, 2012 by Prayson Daniel

In Watchtower’s “What Does The Bible Really Teach?” Jehovah’s Witnesses are taught that “the Bible indicates that Michael is another name for Jesus Christ, before and after his life on earth.”(Watchtower 2005: 218) They maintained: While there is no statement in the Bible that categorically identifies Michael the archangel as Jesus, there is one scripture that links Jesus with … [Read more...]

The Deity of Christ and why this Matters

October 25, 2012 by Daniel Mann

In the official Watchtower publication, Should You Believe in the Trinity, Jehovah’s Witnesses proclaim that: Jesus had an existence in heaven before coming to the earth…the Bible plainly states that in his pre-human existence, Jesus was a created spirit being, just as the angels were spirit beings created by God. … [Read more...]

Jehovah's Witnesses meet Grace, Patience

October 23, 2012 by Paul Buller

If you've poked around at my blog at all then you'll know that I am always on the lookout for great stories of people interacting with others from which we can learn lessons. This story blew my mind. Frankly this is pretty much a case study in getting things exactly right! This will be a bit of a longer blog post because there are just so many things to discuss and so many … [Read more...]

The Resurrection Of Jesus According To The Watchtower

October 22, 2012 by Marc Hempe

Back From The Grave In a list of harmful teachings by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, the one I’m about to speak about is the most harmful one concerning the Christian faith. It’s about the resurrection of Jesus. As Paul declares, that if Jesus had not risen, then our faith is in vain (1 Cor. 15:14). Though the Watchtower say they teach that Jesus resurrected from the … [Read more...]

Christian Apologetics Alliance is a Top 100 Christian Blog

Unity Statement

In essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, in all things charity. The Christian Apologetics Alliance (CAA) is united in our Statement of Faith. The CAA does not, as an organization, have positions on many of the doctrinal or theological debates that take place within the church. Our primary concern is to promote the gracious, rational defense of the central claims of Christianity and the critique of opposing systems of thought. The CAA joyfully welcomes Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and diverse Protestant believers, and we are committed to treating all these traditions with respect in our community.
