Convince Me There’s A God: Questions

November 7, 2012 by Mark McGee

Atheists know that “changing sides” is against the code. Not many of us do that – change sides – but I did. Atheists have been asking me for the past 40+ years why I went from atheism to theism. It’s a fair question and why I’m writing this series of articles about what convinced me that God exists. I’m reaching back to those months before May 1971 when I made “the change” to … [Read more...]

The Correct View of Creation?

November 7, 2012 by Ken Mann

In a previous post, I addressed how the rhetoric and views of some young earth creationists pose a threat to the task of an apologist. Some young earth proponents contend that the message of the Bible itself is in jeopardy if their hermeneutic [1] is not followed. Such an exclusionary view makes it impossible to consider any other view of the creation narratives. To even … [Read more...]

What Caused God?

November 4, 2012 by Henry William

Adam: Chris, earlier in our conversation you said that physical reality must've been caused by something—either by God or by something like God. Right? Chris: Yeah, that’s right. Adam: That’s all very well. But then what caused God? Chris: I’m not entirely sure I understand your question. Can you elaborate a bit? Adam: Well, take the so-called argument for a … [Read more...]

"If You Don't Want God, You'd Better Have a Multiverse"

November 3, 2012 by Tom Gilson

Late in 2008 Discover Magazine published an article that contains one of the clearest reasons any scientist has ever stated for favoring multiverse theory. I encourage you to follow this through to the end for the key statement, and then ask yourself: is he reasoning from science or from theology? Discover Magazine tackled the fine-tuning problem in a December 2008 article … [Read more...]

John Walton—“Genesis Through Ancient Eyes”

October 28, 2012 by Henry William

A common objection to Christianity is that there's supposedly a fundamental conflict between the biblical and scientific stories of the origin and development of the universe, the Earth, life, and so on and so forth. John Walton, ((John Walton has a Ph.D. in Hebrew and Cognate Studies from the Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion, Cincinnati, … [Read more...]

Investigating young-Earth evidences (for those who reject Christianity as young-Earth)

October 26, 2012 by Maryann Spikes

This document is copyright 1999 and 2000 Matthew S. Tiscareno. Full permission is given to reproduce or distribute this document, or to rearrange/reformat it for other media, as long as credit is given and no words are added or deleted from the text. Is there really scientific evidence for a young earth? For the past several decades, the question of the age of the Earth has … [Read more...]

Debate in Apologetics: Secondary Issues of Primary Importance

October 12, 2012 by Ken Mann

Since it began Christianity has been involved in debates. From Jesus’ encounter with the Sadducees to dealing with early heresies on down to the present day, Christians have encountered arguments against their worldview. Learning to deal with external arguments is a central task of the Christian apologist. There are however many doctrinal issues that are arguably internal … [Read more...]

Neo-Darwinism

Evolution has many meanings. (For more please visit Sententias.org.) Change over time Evolution of the cosmos Evolution of living things Evolution of culture, technology, etc. Changes within existing species Morphological (anatomical) Genetic (change in gene frequencies) Common ancestry Within a species Descent of all species from a common … [Read more...]

Convince Me There’s a God

October 8, 2012 by Mark McGee

So, you don't believe there's a God. I understand. I didn't believe in God either, until May of 1971. Most atheists I've talked with about the existence of God during the last 40 years have expressed their concern for me in one way or another. Some have asked if I was ill and on heavy medication at the time of my conversion. Others said I must have been a very poor atheist … [Read more...]

The Evolution of Adam: Was He Real? (A Book Review)

October 6, 2012 by Randy Hardman

I have waited for this book for a long time. Peter Enns has recently written a very controversial book entitled The Evolution of Adam: What the Bible Does and Doesn’t Say About Human Origins. As one might already guess, for a Christian to put the term “evolution” and “Adam” together in an implied affirmative manner will, no doubt, churn heated discussion, especially … [Read more...]

Christian Apologetics Alliance is a Top 100 Christian Blog

Unity Statement

In essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, in all things charity. The Christian Apologetics Alliance (CAA) is united in our Statement of Faith. The CAA does not, as an organization, have positions on many of the doctrinal or theological debates that take place within the church. Our primary concern is to promote the gracious, rational defense of the central claims of Christianity and the critique of opposing systems of thought. The CAA joyfully welcomes Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and diverse Protestant believers, and we are committed to treating all these traditions with respect in our community.
