Essential DNA Required for Life

November 16, 2013 by Philip Carlson

If one believes in evolution, it is important to know what is required for life. Not just what environmental conditions are needed, but also what biochemical conditions. It is often quoted that there are 250 essential proteins required for basic life. To have life, you need 250 proteins so it was thought. While those were previous guesses it is now possible to … [Read more...]

Who Designed the Designer?

November 4, 2013 by CAA Catechism

[This post is a work in progress as part of the CAA Catechism.] [Add the title only in the title field, not in the body of the post.] Summary in 400 words or less: The question “Who created God?” (or sometimes, “What created God?”) is a common question posed by agnostics and atheists in internet discussion forums. Can Science Answer All Questions?

October 20, 2013 by Paul Rezkalla

In the movie Contact? Ellie told her father that she loved him, but she couldn't prove it scientifically. That’s because science can't do that sort of thing. Science can't show that two people love each other. Science is simply a tool that we utilize to uncover facts about the observable universe. So here’s a fun fact: Science is not omniscient. It cannot answer all our … [Read more...]

So-called pseudogenes are not Junk

October 16, 2013 by Philip Carlson

Yesterday I came across this interesting article in the journal RNA on the subject of pseudogenes. The majority of scientific papers I read typically would be of no interest to the average person. This one however sparked my interest because of its relationship to a number of exciting areas. Not just in science, but also in theology and religion. This paper (titled … [Read more...]

GOD: The Best Explanation? Part 4

October 5, 2013 by Nelis Ebersohn and Jason Dennett

The Fine Tuning of the Universe Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 (Pt 4) This is one of the most astonishing discoveries of modern cosmology and astrophysics - the universe is incomprehensibly "fine-tuned" for the existence of complex biological life. This can be seen by looking at the initial conditions for the Big Bang, the mathematical value of the constants of physics, and many other … [Read more...]

Materialists: Where is hope? Look to the stars!

October 3, 2013 by J.w. Wartick

“[T]he Universe may harbor civilizations more intelligent than our own. Perhaps one day, through interstellar communication, some advanced civilization will help us resolve such age-old problems as war, famine, disease, overpopulation, misuse of natural resources, and human aging.”- John Oró, “Historical Understanding of Life’s Beginnings” (40, cited below). Such is the hope … [Read more...]

The Atheist’s God of the Gaps

September 29, 2013 by Zak Schmoll

I want to present you with a hypothetical conversation between your everyday Christian and your everyday atheist. Christian: “I believe that God is the ultimate cause of the universe.” Atheist: “Why would you believe that?” Christian: “I believe that there are certain things that science can’t explain, and God is the most reasonable explanation for those things such as the … [Read more...]

Christian Apologetics Alliance is a Top 100 Christian Blog

Unity Statement

In essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, in all things charity. The Christian Apologetics Alliance (CAA) is united in our Statement of Faith. The CAA does not, as an organization, have positions on many of the doctrinal or theological debates that take place within the church. Our primary concern is to promote the gracious, rational defense of the central claims of Christianity and the critique of opposing systems of thought. The CAA joyfully welcomes Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and diverse Protestant believers, and we are committed to treating all these traditions with respect in our community.
