The Necessity Of God And The Death of Philosophy

December 10, 2013 by Luke Nix

I saw this image on Facebook the other day (states "God isn't an option, He's a necessity"). As a Christian I accept this because it is a part of the truth of Christianity (and consequently, reality). But the unbeliever doesn't tend to accept it or even appreciate the significance of this statement...especially if they claim to know anything (even as minimal as that they … [Read more...]

Questions about God

November 28, 2013 by Sarah Abbey

Having reached the mature age of 4, my niece has gained a new level of inquisitiveness. “Why?” and “What?” have become her two favorite questions in conversation. While she has supplied me with many laughs, what continually amazes me is the intellectual depth her little mind is capable of producing. In the past few weeks she has asked the following questions: “Why doesn’t God … [Read more...]

Transgender Issues + Euthanasia = Tragedy!

November 27, 2013 by Kit Walker

A number of weeks ago, I stumbled across the tragic story of a Belgium transexual, Nathan Verhelst. She was born a female and given the name Nancy. Of Nancy’s birth, her mother said, “When I saw 'Nancy' for the first time, my dream was shattered. She was so ugly. I had a phantom birth.” She supposedly wanted a son. Another article speaks of the mother’s further rejection of … [Read more...]

Evaluation of Darwin's Doubt by Stephen C. Meyer, Part 4

November 26, 2013 by Melissa Cain Travis

This is the fourth and final installment in my book review series on Darwin's Doubt. Part III: After Darwin, What?  In chapters 15 and 16, Meyer explores the various "post-Darwinian" models that have been proposed to account for the massive amount of biological information required to give rise to new body structures and ultimately, new body plans. … [Read more...]

[This post is a work in progress as part of the CAA Catechism.] [Add the title only in the title field, not in the body of the post.] Summary in 400 words or less: The apostle Paul writes, "hope [in God] does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us" (Rom 5:5 NRSV). In his book The Severity … [Read more...]

Nietzsche’s Rejection of Darwinian Evolution

November 21, 2013 by Prayson Daniel

“The error of the Darwinist school has become a problem for me: ” wrote Friedrich Nietzsche, “how can one be so blind as to fail to see clearly here? … That the species represent progress is the most unreasonable assertion in the world:” (Nietzsche 2003, 258) In a period of ten years, Nietzsche drifted from admiring Darwin and his company as “great names of England” to … [Read more...]

Isn't God a placebo?

November 19, 2013 by Ben Nasmith

Consider the skeptical claim that “religion only serves to provide an empty hope that helps us manage our fears.”[1]  God is a placebo.  This all too common sentiment deserves a careful response, if only because of its proven rhetorical power to both discourage believers and bolster unbelievers against belief.  Naturally as a Christian I agree that most religions offer false … [Read more...]

Are We Ready to Deny Objective Morality? 3 Implications of Doing So…

November 17, 2013 by Paul Rezkalla

The idea that we’re living in a culture of relativism seems to be uncontested and accepted without question. Post-modernists and relativists assume that we've progressed past the rigid constraints of ‘truth’, ‘falsity’, ‘reason’, and other oppressive concepts that actually undergird the fabric of rationality in the universe. However, I’m not convinced that we are truly living … [Read more...]

Christian Apologetics Alliance is a Top 100 Christian Blog

Unity Statement

In essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, in all things charity. The Christian Apologetics Alliance (CAA) is united in our Statement of Faith. The CAA does not, as an organization, have positions on many of the doctrinal or theological debates that take place within the church. Our primary concern is to promote the gracious, rational defense of the central claims of Christianity and the critique of opposing systems of thought. The CAA joyfully welcomes Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and diverse Protestant believers, and we are committed to treating all these traditions with respect in our community.
