September 28, 2012 by CAA Guests and Features

It’s a special privilege for me to have as my guest this week, physicist and theologian, Dr. Edgar Andrews from the UK.  Dr. Andrews is the author of Who Made God? Searching for a Theory of Everything , which  has been described as, “Thought-provoking, witty, extremely readable, and ultimately devastating in his critique of evolutionary atheism--demonstrating that a right … [Read more...]

Edgar Andrews: I wasn’t brought up in a Christian family…

September 27, 2012 by CAA Guests and Features

I was converted to Christ as a 19 year old by reading the New Testament. No one told me I had to believe its authenticity. No one even told me I should read it. I wasn’t brought up in a Christian family nor did I attend church as a child. In grade school ‘Religious Instruction’ was my worst subject … I couldn’t get my head around it at all. I didn’t even own a Bible. Yet a day … [Read more...]

Book Review: “Who Made God?” by Edgar Andrews

September 26, 2012 by CAA Guests and Features

Who Made God by Edgar Andrews offers a witty, heady read for Christians looking to interact with some of the most recent scientific theories. Targeted at Christians who have been befuddled by the latest scientific theories, interested skeptics who want to see if Christianity has anything to say about science, or Christian apologists looking to bolster their scientific … [Read more...]

On ENCODE, from the Last "Creationist" to Debate Richard Dawkins

September 25, 2012 by CAA Guests and Features

In light of the recent ENCODE results, we wanted to get Dr. Edgar Andrews' take on the matter, particularly as it concerns his debate with Dr. Richard Dawkins.  It is said that the last "creationist" Dr. Dawkins debated, before refusing to debate creationists (as defined by Dr. Dawkins), was Dr. Andrews.  After listening to this debate, I discussed it with Dr. Andrews and he … [Read more...]

The New Testament Witness to Christ’s Divinity

September 23, 2012 by CAA Guests and Features

Dan Barkman Even a cursory reading of the New Testament Gospels will be enough to convince most people that the Jesus portrayed there is one who claimed to be divine-both in His statements and His behavior. In this article I will explore how the rest of the New Testament authors portrayed Jesus and how this bears on the overall case for Jesus’ divinity. We will pay particular … [Read more...]

RC Misunderstood: It Is All About Evangelism (Part Two)

September 19, 2012 by CAA Guests and Features

By Rick Schenker, President of Ratio Christi One of the main reasons I left public office in 2006 was because I wanted to be more involved in evangelism—the spreading of the gospel. Yet, in a self-assessment of my own abilities, I knew I would make a pretty mediocre preacher.  I figured the last thing the world needed was another mediocre preacher. Not knowing what to do, I … [Read more...]

Apologetics Misunderstood: It Is All About Evangelism (Part One)

September 12, 2012 by CAA Guests and Features

By Rick Schenker, President of Ratio Christi Recently a minister asked me how Ratio Christi was different from other college ministries. I explained that we focused on apologetics—equipping students and faculty with the philosophical, historical, and scientific evidence for why Christianity is true. His next statement shocked me. He said, “So you are not focused on evangelism … [Read more...]

The Supposed Warfare Between Christianity and Science

September 5, 2012 by CAA Guests and Features

The following is an excerpt from Dr. Douglas Groothuis' Christian Apologetics, chapter five, "Distortions of the Christian Worldview—Or the God I Don't Believe In".  It is posted with Dr. Groothuis' gracious permission.  The pic is taken by friend Sarah Geis. The Supposed Warfare Between Christianity and Science Many object to Christianity on the basis that it is hostile to … [Read more...]

Christian Apologetics Alliance is a Top 100 Christian Blog

Unity Statement

In essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, in all things charity. The Christian Apologetics Alliance (CAA) is united in our Statement of Faith. The CAA does not, as an organization, have positions on many of the doctrinal or theological debates that take place within the church. Our primary concern is to promote the gracious, rational defense of the central claims of Christianity and the critique of opposing systems of thought. The CAA joyfully welcomes Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and diverse Protestant believers, and we are committed to treating all these traditions with respect in our community.
