Spong on the Corruption of the Biblical Texts

July 27, 2013 by Brian Colon

A favorite argument against the truth of the Bible among Atheists and Muslims alike is the claim that the Bible has become corrupted over time. Those educated enough to recognize that, due to the multiple and early attestation in the manuscript tradition, this corruption could not have happened as a result of the transmission of the text, instead turn their attention to the … [Read more...]

The Backyard Skeptics of Orange County

November 21, 2012 by Brian Colon

I bet you thought it would never happen! Orange County is home to two mega-churches that are known around the country, namely Saddleback Church and The Crystal Cathedral (not so much anymore).  More than that there are several other mega churches spread out around Orange County, such as First Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton, or Eastside Christian Church, not to mention my … [Read more...]

Why Does the Historical Jesus Matter?

September 23, 2012 by Brian Colon

Brian, You spend a lot of time talking about the “Historical Jesus.” Why is it so important that we believe that Jesus was a real person? Isn’t it enough to believe in the teachings of Jesus, regardless of whether he actually existed? -Rick … [Read more...]

I, Not the Lord…

August 21, 2012 by Brian Colon

Brian, When I was reading in 1 Corinthians 7, I noticed that Paul said a rather peculiar thing. He said “To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord)…” (verse 12). What does this mean? If the words that followed this were “not [from] the Lord” then wouldn’t that mean that it was not inspired? Nicole … [Read more...]

Eyewitness News: The Book of Acts

July 26, 2012 by Brian Colon

The Apostle Peter said that, “we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.” (2 Peter 1:16 NIV) Unlike the other religions of the world, Christianity is a religion that is based on eyewitness testimony. The Apostles were all eyewitnesses to Jesus’ resurrection, the very … [Read more...]

Christian Apologetics Alliance is a Top 100 Christian Blog

Unity Statement

In essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, in all things charity. The Christian Apologetics Alliance (CAA) is united in our Statement of Faith. The CAA does not, as an organization, have positions on many of the doctrinal or theological debates that take place within the church. Our primary concern is to promote the gracious, rational defense of the central claims of Christianity and the critique of opposing systems of thought. The CAA joyfully welcomes Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and diverse Protestant believers, and we are committed to treating all these traditions with respect in our community.
