Slideshow: For Those Who Doubt Jesus Ever Lived

July 28, 2013 by Robin Schumacher

In the halls and classrooms of accredited universities and among scholarly historians—both Christian and non alike—the idea that Jesus of Nazareth never lived is ridiculous. However, in some internet atheist haunts, the claim is still very much alive.

Is there good historical evidence for believing that Jesus existed? Absolutely.

The seventh presentation of the free “Essential Apologetics” series looks at the claims of those who doubt Jesus’ life and presents a case against the idea that Jesus was just a copycat of other pagan gods. It also shows what facts are nearly universally accepted among historians about the carpenter from Nazareth.

You can view and download all presentations completed so far in the Essential Apologetics series here.

There is little doubt that jesus existed. There is little doubt that he claimed to be the son of god. However, this virgin birth nonsense was an invention by the church to lend some street cred to the claim that he was the son of god. If he really was, he wouldn’t need the street cred. By definition then, he wasn’t the son of god. Further, how can he be the son of god? God doesn’t exist except in the minds of the superstitious, the brain-washed and those afraid of man’s mortality.

Wake up people and smell the coffee. God didn’t invent man, man invented god in order to control his fellow man.

Are you saying that we never would have heard about Jesus if not for the testimony that His mother was a virgin?

    Thanks for the great resource.
It’s pretty telling when atheists and skeptics have to resort to the extraordinary Jesus myth defense as a way of avoiding the hard apologetics.

It isn’t jesus’ existence that is doubted by skeptics and atheists. Most people do not dispute that someone who called himself jesus existed or that he claimed to be the son of god. What skeptics and atheists doubt is that he was actually the son of god because, how can he be? God doesn’t exist.

Christian Apologetics Alliance is a Top 100 Christian Blog

Unity Statement

In essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, in all things charity. The Christian Apologetics Alliance (CAA) is united in our Statement of Faith. The CAA does not, as an organization, have positions on many of the doctrinal or theological debates that take place within the church. Our primary concern is to promote the gracious, rational defense of the central claims of Christianity and the critique of opposing systems of thought. The CAA joyfully welcomes Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and diverse Protestant believers, and we are committed to treating all these traditions with respect in our community.
