Mysticism, Tony Campolo, and the Hope of World Unity

November 17, 2013 by Daniel Mann

Many in the Western church are choosing experience over truth. Mysticism is now touted as the means to directly experience God, without our “divisive” doctrines. It is described as the hope of finding common ground among the various religions, through shared mystical experiences.  In this regards, sociologist, Tony Campolo, writes: A theology of mysticism provides some hope … [Read more...]

Sex and Civilization

November 3, 2013 by Daniel Mann

With the West massively committed to redefining sex, marriage and the family, it might be fruitful to see if any of these innovations have already been tried and what has been history’s verdict regarding them. Brian Fitzpatrick suggests that the most “definitive work on the rise and fall of civilizations, was published in 1934 by Oxford anthropologist J.D. Unwin." In Sex and … [Read more...]

A Unifying Theory of Everything

October 29, 2013 by Daniel Mann

Where did the universe come from? Some cosmologists want to hypothesize that it sprang into existence from “nothing.” However, their “nothing” is something. Alexander Vilenkin believes that “something is in place beforehand – namely the laws of physics.” However, he admits: It’s a great mystery as to where the laws of physics come from. We don’t even know how to approach it … [Read more...]

Bradley Monton: The Hated Atheist and ID Sympathizer

October 18, 2013 by Daniel Mann

There are many who despise atheist professor of philosophy, Bradley Monton, author of Seeking God in Science: An Atheist Defends Intelligent Design, and even want to see him fired. He explains: The degree to which I have been attacked is actually pretty ludicrous. I gave a public lecture on intelligent design here at the University of Colorado, and a number of the school’s … [Read more...]

The Logical Case against Naturalism

September 18, 2013 by Daniel Mann

Science has been hijacked by philosophical naturalism – the belief that everything originated naturally, operates naturally, and is sustained naturally apart from a Designer. Only natural explanations are allowed. Consequently, any scientist who offers a supernatural (ID) rather than a natural explanation risks both job and reputation. … [Read more...]

Jesus’ Gospel Teachings are Authentically Jesus

August 17, 2013 by Daniel Mann

Can we trust the four canonical Gospels – Matthew, Mark, Luke and John? More specifically, are the teachings they ascribe to Jesus authentic? The Jesus Seminar (JS), a collection of skeptical Bible critics active in the 1980s and 90s, concluded that only 18% of what the Gospels had attributed to Jesus were actually genuine. For many, this puts the kibosh on the Bible. If it’s … [Read more...]

Reza Aslan, a Joyous Media, and the Denial of the Biblical Jesus

July 25, 2013 by Daniel Mann

The mainstream media’s hatred of Christianity has become more blatantly obvious. Pastor John Dickerson writes: Reza Aslan, author of the new book, “Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth” has been interviewed on a host of media outlets in the last week. Riding a publicity wave, the book has surged to #2 on Amazon's list. Media reports have introduced Aslan as a … [Read more...]

One Reason Why We Regard the Bible as God’s Words

June 19, 2013 by Daniel Mann

When we think about how the Bible proves itself to be the Word of God, we usually think about the miracles and fulfilled prophecies of the Bible. We might also think in terms of the wisdom, unity and the power of the Bible to change lives. There is even a powerful case to be made for how biblical revelation had anticipated the findings of science and archeology. In addition … [Read more...]

An Atheist Admires the Contributions of Religion

June 18, 2013 by Daniel Mann

Atheist Alain de Botton believes that atheists and secularists can borrow a lot of good things from religion: Religions merit our attention for their sheer conceptual ambition; for changing the world in a way that few secular institutions ever have. They have managed to combine theories about ethics and metaphysics with a practical involvement in education, fashion, … [Read more...]

Evolution and the Church: A Dysfunctional Marriage

May 19, 2013 by Daniel Mann

Although none of its followers would call it a religion, evolution has become the religion of the university. Instead, they call it science, even though none of it can be verified in the laboratory. However, even a growing number of atheists are challenging this theory. The late theoretical physicist, Fred Hoyle, dismissed this theory: "Darwinian theory is wrong because … [Read more...]

Christian Apologetics Alliance is a Top 100 Christian Blog

Unity Statement

In essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, in all things charity. The Christian Apologetics Alliance (CAA) is united in our Statement of Faith. The CAA does not, as an organization, have positions on many of the doctrinal or theological debates that take place within the church. Our primary concern is to promote the gracious, rational defense of the central claims of Christianity and the critique of opposing systems of thought. The CAA joyfully welcomes Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and diverse Protestant believers, and we are committed to treating all these traditions with respect in our community.
